What's happened since my last note? The Picture-line is below.
Fall Skills- a three day rotation of multiple outdoor skills for the purpose of adventure, team building, glorifying God and a ton of fun.
It all began with rock-climbing...
Followed by a little kayaking...
Rafting in the fall--AMAZING!
Specialization: Each student chooses one of the three skills to specialize in. This is a 5 day event in which they go more in depth with whichever skill they choose.
Can you guess which one I did?... 5 days on the Salmon and Snake River, hitting 3 different states (Idaho, Oregon and Washington), eating tons of food and creating memories.
Since the end of specialization (Oct 9) we have been in various classes, helping teach other classes, and attempting to complete homework. What's on the calendar next? Currently the first year students are completing a practicum (where youth come in and they plan and execute a program for them, out of all the material they have learnt. This ranges from figuring out roles, to who works where, to what they do and how they do it. It's a big task so if you could keep them in your prayers that would be great). After the practicum is over (Sunday), we will have a quick day to debrief, clean up camp, pack and then we head back to Prairie on Tuesday. What does the rest of the semester hold? Well, I'm not completely sure. The academic work certainly picks up once we reach the Prairie campus, but I'm positive there will be other 'stuff' that comes up that I don't yet know about. But...I'll be sure to let you know when I do know!
