New growth and more changes.  View this email in your browser Big Changes in the Tiny House Summer is over, so here's what has been happening This summer was crazy busy with Andrew working 16 hour days as camp's Leadership Coordinator. But fall has arrived and we are finally able to get back into our 'normal' routine.  First of all, I'm sure you have noticed by the picture that we are adding a new member to our family! The little G is due sometime the end of Feb/beginning of March and is growing fiercely (as I can feel in my hunger pangs every 2 hours). We are very excited and yes, we are planning to stay in the tiny house until baby is mobile (probably move sometime next summer).  Other exciting news is that Andrew has moved into a new position at camp as the Coordinator of Programs, which gives us more permanence here as well as more livable pay and benefits. He started this position a week ago and is thriving. So for the time being, we are "permanently" in the Bragg Creek area. I have been working both as a doula and photographer over the summer and have had moments of craziness and moments of boredom. My work totally depends on the needs of my clients and being on-call can be challenging, but I don't mind it. I will be travelling down to Seattle in a few weeks to complete my Childbirth Educator training, after which I will continue my certification process so that I can teach Prenatal Classes. As always we are always open to visitors, but if you can't stop by then send us a note to tell us how you are doing! Even if I forget to reply, I always love receiving your notes. Bubble Note #85

Moved in, vacation and warm weather.  View this email in your browser Home Owners Moved in and comfortable While I (Beth) was laid off from work in December, we decided that I should take a break. Well I used the next two months to finish off the tiny house! We moved in end of February and are absolutely in love with it.  Since then I have kept up my doula and photography business and have started to nanny for another family part time. It's hard to find a job that is willing to let me get up and go when I need to attend a birth. I'm thankful for the flexibility that is provided.  We also went on vacation to Vancouver Island a couple of weeks ago- trying to get away before the craziness of summer begins. Besides that, we have been plugging away at work, enjoying our unusually warm spring and cuddling our new niece (Tyler and Brooke had a little girl- Elsa- on March 1st).  For the first time I have no new announcements of job, or moving, or other life events. Life is pretty stable. Weird. Bubble Note #84- Tiny House

Change and settlement.  View this email in your browser Change Tiny House, new jobs and business So much has changed since I last wrote in June I will summarize with pictures and details below. We are so happy with where we are currently at. God is good.  We received our trailer and began building our dream tiny house at the end of August. While we feel progress has not gone as fast as we may like, we also realize that we will have started and completed a house within 6 months. Not to shabby.  We are looking forward to (eventually) moving into our giant 200 square foot home.  I (Beth) have also been very busy as I transitioned out of my camp job as cook and recently began my own business as doula and photographer. I have thoroughly enjoyed growing my business and allowing my creative juices to flow. I also began nannying full time so that we would have enough money to finish off the house (no debt yet!).  If you are interested in seeing more check out my website at: www.yourbeautifulbirth.org or my 'like' my Facebook Page  Andrew also switched roles at the end of summer and has assumed the role of Youth Leadership Coordinator at Easter Seals Camp Horizon. While he prepares for next summer he has also taken on media projects for camp and is constantly producing videos and promotional material.   We will be spending Christmas with both sides of the family as my parents returned to Calgary in June and Andrew's parents are flying out to be with us and participate in Christmas camp. Bubble Note #83

Let's be honest, by long term we mean over 2 years.  View this email in your browser The Future "Long-term" - wait, did we really just say that word? Many of you know by now (via Facebook) that I did not get into either school for Midwifery. I was placed 14th on the wait list for Mount Royal in Calgary; which sets me up well for applying again next year. In the mean time, Andrew and I have been doing some soul searching to see what we want for the future. At this time, we are exploring options to be able to stay on camp staff in a more permanent basis. We love Easter Seals Camp Horizon, we love our little cabin, we love the community here and we love the possibilities for our own personal growth. As of right now I will be continuing in the kitchen until the end of October, at which point I will (with the wonderful supportive prompting of my husband who thinks I am capable of anything) be attending births as a doula full time and trying to supplement some income via photography. Over the summer Andrew will be leading the bikes program at camp, and we are exploring other options (within camp) for the fall.  Perhaps our time of jumping around has come to a temporary close. Ok, maybe I'm still having trouble with the word 'long-term'.
